Big announcement: course on reproducible research and change management π§βπ»
I am really excited to announce that Alexander Schacht and I have created an online course on reproducible research with a focus on practical steps and implementation into your group or organisation. About the courseDo you struggle reading your own code, let alone the code of your co-workers? Is it painful to update or add analyses when you get questions from co-authors or reviewers? Do you feel like there must be a better more effective way of working? Many statisticians and data scientists struggle with the same challenges. βThe Effective Statistician Reproducible Research Course helps you and your colleagues to conduct research in a reproducible way via a structured 6 step process. Additionally, you will learn about the strategy to drive the adoption of these practices across your organisation or working group. After the course, you will have a system in place that makes it easy to work effectively for yourself and with colleagues. You will also know how to drive changes across your organisation and have taken steps to take your organisation to the next level with respect to reproducible research. Save your spot now and enroll into The Effective Statistician Reproducible Research Course! About The Effective Statistician AcademyβThe Effective Statistician Academy is a new learning platform Alexander Schacht has put together. I very much recommend checking out the other activities that run under "The Effective Statistician" such as the podcast. There is also an episode on the podcast where Alexander and I talk about reproducible research. Creating this course was truly a lot of fun. I traveled to Alexander's home town, was fed amazing vegan food, and even received professional styling and make-up. A wonderful collaboration so far and I am looking forward to running the course. I think it is really important to bring change management into the discussions around reproducible research, because it requires social change (unless you're not working in a team). So please check out the course and forward it to anyone who might be interested. It would mean a lot! All the best, Heidi P.S. The βdeRSE Unconference 2023β which takes place on the 26th-28th September has extended its deadline and you still have time to get involved!
